I'd like to import tasks into Remember The Milk

We currently support importing tasks from the following services:

We'll be adding support for additional services in the future. If you'd like to see support for a specific service, please let us know.

If your service isn't supported yet, it's possible to import tasks by email (either one task at a time, or a list of task names).

How to import your tasks from Remember The Milk

This feature is handy if you'd like to move your tasks from one Remember The Milk account to another, or restore a back up of your Remember The Milk tasks. First, you'll need to export your tasks from Remember The Milk in JSON format:

  1. Open the web app or desktop app.
  2. Click on the 'Settings gear' at the top right.
  3. Click on Account settings.
  4. Click on Export in the menu on the left.
  5. Click the Download Export button to download a JSON file from Remember The Milk.

To import your tasks into Remember The Milk:

  1. Open the Remember The Milk web app or desktop app.
  2. Click on the 'Settings gear' at the top right.
  3. Click on Account settings.
  4. Click on Import in the menu on the left.
  5. Choose "Remember The Milk" from the Import From dropdown.
  6. Click the Choose File button and select the Remember The Milk ".json" file from your computer.
  7. Click the Import button.

Note: If any of the tasks or notes in the import already exist in your Remember The Milk account, duplicates will be created. Lists, Smart Lists, tags, locations, and sorting options that already exist in the account won't be duplicated.

How to import your tasks from Todoist

The import works by connecting your Remember The Milk account to your Todoist account:

  1. Open the Remember The Milk web app or desktop app.
  2. Click on the 'Settings gear' at the top right.
  3. Click on Account settings.
  4. Click on Import in the menu on the left.
  5. Choose "Todoist" from the Import From dropdown.
  6. Click the Import button.
  7. You will be redirected to Todoist to connect your accounts.
  8. Once logged in, you'll be automatically redirected back to Remember The Milk and the import will begin.
  9. Once the import is complete, press the "Okey dokey" button confirming what was imported.

How to import your tasks from Toodledo

First, you'll need to export your tasks from Toodledo:

  1. Log into www.toodledo.com using your browser.
  2. Click on your avatar at the top right of the screen, and select Import / Export / Backup.
  3. Click the Backup / Restore button.
  4. Click "Download backup file" there to download an XML file from Toodledo.

To import your tasks into Remember The Milk:

  1. Open the Remember The Milk web app or desktop app.
  2. Click on the 'Settings gear' at the top right.
  3. Click on Account settings.
  4. Click on Import in the menu on the left.
  5. Choose "Toodledo" from the Import From dropdown.
  6. Click the Choose File button and select the Toodle ".xml" file from your computer.
  7. Click the Import button.

How to import your tasks from Wunderlist

The import works by connecting your Remember The Milk account to your Wunderlist account:

  1. Open the Remember The Milk web app or desktop app.
  2. Click on the 'Settings gear' at the top right.
  3. Click on Account settings.
  4. Click on Import in the menu on the left.
  5. Choose "Wunderlist" from the Import From dropdown.
  6. Click the Import button.
  7. You will be redirected to Wunderlist to connect your accounts.
  8. Once logged in, you'll be automatically redirected back to Remember The Milk and the import will begin.
  9. Once the import is complete, press the "Okey dokey" button confirming what was imported.

If the import is unable to complete for any reason, you will be given an option to upload a manually exported file from Wunderlist.

How to import tasks from other apps and services
