This would be awesome, the way tasks are done in saleforce are painful compared to RTM does it.

a.revesz says:
Ditto. I would love this, and so would thousands - if not tens or hundreds of thousands - of people. Salesforce.com's user base is quite large, and would provide RTM with a wealth of opportunity is something like this was developed.

Salesforce.com even has AppExchange for third-parties like RTM to do this.

Please guys, like everyone else has said in this post... give it to us!

One more vote for something that would be very important and worth being a fee based service.

1 more vote - this is one feature I would love to see!

I'd sign up for a pro account immediately if it included salesforce integration.

Two more votes from URBaCS. We'd love Salesforce integration and would go Pro when its available.

One more company vote here - we would definitely pay for such a feature!!

Absolutely. RTM and Dropbox are the two I need most. Integration with Salesforce would be heaven!

jonathan.english says:
I thought of this too a couple of months ago....would be great....especially as it would tie everything into Google via RTM and SF.

paulheth says:
Another vote. Getting task to the mobile device via the Salesforce.com mobile app is $50/month. Makes a pro license look like a great value.

It is the one piece missing in our google appssf.com integration.

Add 3 votes please.

did this idea lose steam? how do we get it going again?

ranbarton Power Poster says:
Lose steam as compared to what other new feature(s) here?
Posted 14 years ago
acronym says:
This was proposed 9 months ago... i don't see any responses from the RTM crew with updates or suggestions that they are even considering this idea. I just would like to see it happen and not get lost in the mix of the other 9 million feature requests in this forum.
A couple people mentioned that they were going to hire external developers to do this... any success?

Looks like a lot of us are willing to pay for this. We need someone to build it. Couldn't this be done via the API as a third-party service? I would not expect this to be built into RTM, but a plug-in.

What kind of functionality would you like to see here?

How tight does this integration have to be in order to be useful?

Thanks!

I'd be happy if I had a one way feed from SF.COM --> to my RTM Inbox.

Sure I'd have to complete in two places, But more than likely I'd need to add notes to SF.COM anyway.

We have just packaged up a fresh build of a SF trigger that adds SF tasks to a linked RTM account.

Please check out the instructions in our wiki and let us know what you think:

I am a Salesforce user but I've also resurrected my RTM account. One reason I stopped using RTM was because it was so clunky on iPhone compared with RTM on the Blackberry which is sweet.

On the BB I could use RTM even with no signal, the iPhone app was much inferior. Seems better now.

Anywy: SF is very powerful and very clumsy.

Also, you would require at least Salesforce Enterprise Edition - hundreds of dollars a month - to get any kind of sync with RTM.

So forget it. I find that manually passing tasks back and forth works OK, at least it gets me thinking about them : )

PS Salesforce apps are insanely expensive, $2000 a year for Google calendar sync, any takers?

I didn't think so.

As luck would have it, I'm the product manager for Salesforce Chatter Connect, one of the ways RTM could integrate with Salesforce. Talk to me RTM guys if you're interested in participating in our early access program for the api.

Lhenriquez,

i'm a SFDC customer and just happened to start using RTM today to test it out. I found this thread because, just like everyone else, i'm interested in how to get my SFDC tasks into RTM without manual intervention. Currently this is what i do:

SFDC ---> Outlook

Ideally i'd like to:

SFDC -----> RTM

I would imagine that i'd have a context for SFDC and it would feed RTM all of my followups etc. that need to be done to my contacts/opportunities/accounts

I have also been investigating Omnifocus but my IT guys don't want me using it on my personal Mac. But that tool is very slick! Hence why i'm looking at alternatives that play nicely with PC and the GTD methodology.

(sorry for long post)

Great idea. I'm going to try out the trigger mentioned above for syncing (I'm used to testing software :).

I also think this could be a for-fee app for Salesforce if polished up and done well.

I am pro customer and have 2 more people here. We've just increased our productivity and fun level by using RTM! So thanks a lot first!

We're now thinking about using Salesforce as well and we'd be very happy to use a "holistic" integrated system without having to do manual work.

Any updates?
