Uncheck item after postponing

kkaland says:
Hi there,

I'd like it if the items could have the checkbox removed following a postpone action.

Usually, I find that when postponing a task, it's then off my mind, and I don't want to do anything else with it. It's out of sight, I click another task and do something to it.

However, I've had to develop the habit of hitting "n" after "p" because I kept, for example, postponing the original task further due to it still being checked.

I'd like it if after postponing at least, the item could be unchecked.

Maybe some option to control after which actions the item is de-selected would be possible/feasible?

Thanks,
Kevin

To broaden this point, I think this post speaks to the exact same confusion that has been voiced here dozens of times. The ability for actions to be applied to multiple items because of the confusion between actions and properties and multiedit is a chronic UI issue for RTM.

another vote for unchecking items after actions. this drives me crazy because i constantly accidentally move/complete/postpone items i didn't mean to move/complete/postpone.

ideally, if i want to do something on multiple tasks there would be a specific gesture to do so, for example, dragging the tasks into a "action box" on which actions can be performed in bulk

in general i tend to work one task at a time, which is also the way GTD is supposed to work anyway. the time saving feature that allows multi-checking is rarely useful and it can ruin my day when i realize i can't find a task anymore because i accidentally completed after having had it selected for something like a due date change...

I agree. This has been happening to me and I could not put my finger on why! "Unchecking after an action" would solve several issues.

I have to agree a
s well. I would guess that the frequency of use of amending multiple checked items is far less than working with individual items, as in the review process. If that's true for most, it would justify unchecking the item after postponing or other changes as the default, with multiples as a needed and convenient exception.

Just had a thought. If RTM feels they have to leave an amended item checked, could they at least keep the item visible (auto scroll to its new position in the list) so we don't have to go hunting for it if we want to uncheck, or make another change?
