Time period (e.g. only in spring - summer)

For example, if I want to be reminded every week to remove weeds, I only need this from spring to fall. That would be great if I could narrow it down like that.

This is also my case. I have been using RTM for almost 8 years already. Lately, I found it inconvenient that every year, when winter comes, I have to set a schedule for various tasks that are only valid during that time. Similar for other seasons. I thought a lot about it, and I couldn't find a way to automate it.
It will be perfect if there is an option in the repeating settings to set periods when repeating is valid.

Given that it is unlikely this feature will be implemented anytime soon, might I suggest that instead of one task repeating monthly, you set up (for example) eight tasks repeating annually, with the four months where you do not wish the task to appear omitted, to obtain close to the desired result.
Another possibility would be to tag a task with a tag indicating when it is to be suppressed, and then using a smart list that excluded tasks with that tag for a given season?

@ranbarton, thanks for your suggestions. I'm using RTM so long that I've worked out some solutions, but one way or another, they're somehow inconvenient. This is why I recently posted a few new ideas and promoted others. Actually, looking at how development of RTM looks these days, I'm not expecting any of this will be done. But I still keep my fingers crossed for better days for this project, and that's why I did that.
Since my case is not a task repeating once per month for 3 or 4 months, but a few tasks repeating 2, 4, 6,... days after they are completed, this is how I workaround this. I'm keeping all these things on separate lists for easy searching and managing. I added an additional task for the end of the season to remove the next due day from all these tasks (I'm not removing them, so I keep expected repetability and other details for all of them). Then, I set another task for pre-start of the season to check if I should set them again already or still wait for 1 or 2 weeks more. That works, but it requires quite a lot of manual editing, especially if I need some of them to be set for an explicit hour (this is lost when the next due date is removed). The period feature would help a lot to not care about it anymore.
