Speedier and more reliable syncing on mobile apps

The sync process when starting up the iPhone or iPad app often takes as long as a minute to complete, and the app is unstable until then in terms of entering new tasks. (The use case here is I open the app because I want to quickly add a task, but then have to wait on the sync process to finish.) If I add new tasks before the sync has completed, the new task sometimes disappears.
Moreover, after that initial sync, there are often orphan tasks left uncompleted on the mobile apps that were marked completed on the web app, but somehow got lost in the synchronization shuffle.
So I'd like to see a speed and stability release of both the iPad and iPhone apps (and I don't have one, but presumably also the Android app) focused on improving the synchronization process.
(And yes, I realize I could set sync from Auto to Manual, but I find that the whole process is a little buggy: if I haven't synced and I add a new task, that newly-added task doesn't always appear after the big manual sync.)
