Add task to inbox using your voice

metropol says:
Hi

What: A quick & dirty way to add tasks to your inbox by voice.

How: I have my account on reqall (www.reqall.com) set to delivery newly created tasks to my RTM Inbox Email Address.

Usage: I use the reqall iPhone app, and just speak the task description. The recorded message is synced to my reqall account on the cloud, and as soon as the voice to text transcription is ready, I get the task in my RTM inbox.

Problems: The format of the transcription output from reqall is not RTM friendly, so you can't use syntax to tag or specify the list.

You can do something similar, and better, using Jott or Dial2Do.
However, Jott is not free and you need to call a phone number.
Dial2Do is free, but you need to call a phone number and go thru a short dialog to select the service.

This method with reqall is free and does not require to call a phone number as the recorded message is synced over either WiFi or 3G network (meaning you can use it from wherever, and, if you have a flat data plan you get it for no additional cost).

If someone is interested, I can detail the settings.

Regards
Ugo

I am also using Dial2Do.

Being integrated as a service in RTM, Dial2Do is naturally a better choice.
However, it requires you to dial a phone number which might not be an option for some.

Thanks for the feedback.

I registered with Dial2do, it did take 2 minutes ;-)
Amazing service, the quality in converting speech to text is surprisingly good.

However, I found that RTM interpreted parts of the e-mail as tags. For quick task entry, maybe that's OK.

It also let's you add appointments to your Google Calendar or send text messages/SMS using your voice.

And it's available in Sweden! Speech is English only though...

Sorry, I had missed the RTM interface in Dial2do, no need to e-mail tasks to RTM, install the RTM command in Dial2do instead.

Adding voice memos would be a really good addition to the RTM iPhone app...

I would also love to have voice memos directly in the RTM iPhone app.

The pro account doesn't offer enough benefits compared to the free one, and adding support for voice memo would be a real plus.

Sorry for not posting instructions yet...

I second metropol's reference to the added value of voice memo support for Pro accounts, via 800# and through the iphone app.

reQal does not work with a standard mobile phone in Germany, Dial2Do doesnt offer its services in Germany at all. :-(

Is there another service like that available in Germany?
