Subtasks Help?
I have tried using subtasks in the past but haven't been able to understand how to use them properly, returning details to separate individual tasks each time.
Is there a simplified guide - subtasks for dummies - anywhere online to help me understand how to use subtasks correctly? I fear I am about to make yet another mess of my RTM and have to put it all right. Again.

What does "returning details to separate individual tasks each time." mean?
I just use them as normal, but I wrote a milkscript to put the title of the parent task in the subtasks so I know what it's related to.
For Instance, if I have a parent task called "Grocery Shopping" and I have a sub-task called "Buy Bananas", after I run the script, the subtask name is now "[Grocery Shopping] Buy Bananas".
Not sure if that accomplishes that you are looking for?

In addition, if the following helps I have some details about how subtasks behave that may help:
* First, subtasks reside in the parent task, which resides in a list. So any organization you want to do may help to use something not based on the list, for example tags.
* Second, subtasks only show in the task list (like Today, This Week, your lists) if the parent task does not show up; otherwise, the subtask is shown inside the parent task. This may help you organize your tasks based on date, for example leaving off a date on the parent task so you can have your subtasks show up in Today/This Week/etc.
* Last, subtasks have their own properties other than the list—tags, due date, priority, etc. This may help you decide how to set those properties, for example setting a due time for a subtask that means you are reminded of it specifically.
