Is there a smart way to add a URL directly when I create a task?

bjebeje says:
I keep stumbling over stuff on the web that I want to read later. One easy way would be to create a task with a link to the page to read, but I haven't found an easy way to do so without FIRST having to create the task, THEN search for it and FINALLY open the task for editing and add the URL.

There must be a better way!?

I have found an old, small Chrome plug in, but it's from 2013 and captures only the link to the LinkedIn feed for example, not the specific article in the feed.

Hi bjebeje,
There are a few options that would help:
* You could email a page to your Remember The Milk Inbox address.
* You could use Smart Add for Desktop to copy/paste a URL into a new task directly.
* You could use the mobile apps' "Share" feature to share a task to the Remember The Milk app.

Hopefully those help for you but let me know what you find!

@andrewski
The "right" way to resolve this is for RTM to come up with a browser extension, something that has been requested time and time again.
Today RTM rightly celebrates 14 years in existence, how about giving all your loyal users a present with a browser extension to do this?

@bjebeje
You could try "RTM Assistant" in the Chrome store (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/rtm-assistant/afdjflpkbkggfpmgimnimllohgnhjccb) or take a look at this tip I posted some time ago in the forum (https://www.rememberthemilk.com/forums/tips/22832/)

@bjebeje - I created a Shortcut routine in iOS 13 to take the title of the Safari page and create a task in RTM. I also adds the URL of the page to the Notes section. The entire process to create the tasks happens in the background. You can find details about it here: https://www.rememberthemilk.com/forums/tips/23306/
