Hide tasks

You can use the Today, Tomorrow, or This Week views to hide tasks until they are due.
You can also use start dates to set when a task starts. This won't control when a task is shown in the above views, but you can use it with Smart Lists.
Last, using start and/or due dates, you can use Smart Lists to control when tasks are hidden or shown in that view. For example, if you wanted to create a Smart List for work tasks that start or are due today, you could search for:
list:Work AND (start:today OR startBefore:today OR due:today OR dueBefore:today)
