Can't sign in or sync because of "No connection"? Solved!

brudge says:
If you get a message about not being able to sign in or not being able to sync on an Android device because there is no connection, go to RTM (website) > Settings > "Always Use HTTPS".

If it is "On", turn it "Off", save settings and try again. This solved the issue for me.
