I like the new interface!
Glad to see that things happen to the RTM site itself:
- Tags show up next to the task (can be turned off in the settings)
- If the task has notes there's an icon
- Repeating task has a special icon
- Deleting repeating task asks how you want to delete
- A new marker for the highlighted task
- A connecting line so that you now which task's details you see at right
- Due dates show up as today, friday etc
- Due dates in the far future has year also
- There's also a Tags part in the settings, you can merge tags for instance or delete (only the tag, not the task)

Yep, looks really good - I'd prefer the tags to be after the task name though, that way the tasks line up properly.

I agree; I'd either like to have the tags after the task name, or have a quick way to toggle them on and off. The tags certainly provide useful info, but sometimes I miss the cleanly aligned left edge. Great app, btw!

rajjan, good job spotting (most ;) of the new stuff :) Glad you like it!
Before anyone asks, just wanted to mention that we're in the middle of rolling this out, so it's not available in all accounts just yet. We should be done in a few hours...

Oh, there's an option to move the tags to the right of the task now! I had to reload RTM to see that option. Excellent, now I'm a happy bunny!

sprouty76, we snuck that one in :) Thanks to you guys for your feedback on this.
The new version should now be available for all accounts -- the blog post has more details on the changes (rajjan mentioned most, but there are a couple of non-interface features too :)
And if any translators have the chance, there are indeed some new phrases available for translation. We would love any help with these :) I should also mention (in case anyone is wondering) that there are a few languages that are queued up for release -- now that this new version is out, we'll be launching these shortly.

Sweet, thanks rajjan!

Wow, these are some great interface changes, some of which I never thought of and hadn't heard from others, but make things every clearer. I love the tag displays, the icons, and the lines telling you which task(s) you are editing. Even the little ">" symbol that shows which task you are currently on is a lot clearer than the old color coding.
The ability to see your tasks in something like Google calendar without having to make your stuff public (or rather easily determined), is amazing!
Of course I have to suggest a couple of small tweaks, but maybe these can be taken care of with a Greasmonkey script or a Stylish. These are also very minor and nitpicky and probably things that are just my own sense of how things should look and others may not share them. So, the two tweeks I would do is to, when the tags are displayed, to have them show up in parentheses, which kind of seperates them from the main title visually. I realize you are already doing this by color coding, but I'm not sure if blue is the right color to use because it is so embedded in people's minds as a hyperlink to click on to go somewhere else. Finally, as I said, I like the notes icon, but it is all the way over on the right. The repeating icon is right after the task titile, so why not include the notes icon there too. That way I don't have to keep looking in a completely seperate part of the page for that information. I probably will not specifically be looking for notes, but if I see that a task happens to have one, I might want to check it out. But I'm probably not going to notice it all the way over on the right.
Anyway, as I said, a great job improving the interface and functionality even further!

Bravo to the RTM crew for adding so many useful changes to the site: ico n s; inline tags; human-readable due dates; and several others are all lo n g awaited. I think it says great things about the RTM developers and the RTM community that they have been able to discuss the site and offer so many suggestio n s for useful enhancements like this.
It's great to see the best of class task management site extend its lead like this.
