Export - Import Excel

camilo.soza says:
It would be of great use to have possibility to export and import to an excel file, including the notes.

Any plan to do it?,

Thanks,

Yes yes.. exporting in excel with notes is much required.

Very useful for those TPS reports :)

I would love to import from Excel... trying to do that right now. Importing via email is failing miserably.

If RTM hasn't created an Excel import/export mechanism by now, there must be a reason. Ideas?

Importing exporting with notes would be a great hit for RTM. When it would be done?

I've always used my Outlook tasks as a way of exporting jobs done for the past month for invoice tracking purposes so not being able to export my RTM tasks to Excel / CSV inc Notes would be a big obstacle to me wanting to go pro.

Perhaps this is policy to "lock in" users' data to RTM as CSV / Excel would offer an easy though admittedly rudimentary route for transferring data back and forth between Outlook and other MS apps...

I can export/import iCal?

I'm keen for an Export function for Excel. Would be very handy indeed.

I've tried the iCal back up with out success (http://www.rememberthemilk.com/help/answers/basics/backup.rtm)

REALLY looking for some support / development on this.

I use RTM for personal tasks - particularly on my iphone. However, I would like to be able to use it for some work related tasks. In that case I would like to be able to separate those tasks from my personal tasks when showing colleagues in order to keep the personal tasks private.

ie: I could create a series of development plan tasks, export them to excel and email to my manager to approve.

I'm also interested in it from a back up point of view.

It seems obvious to me that this would be a required feature and I really hope this is being worked on.

I too could not get ical to work on windows. The suggestion to paste with https: instead of the default didn't help.

Here is what met my needs to export to CSV all tasks:
1. In RTM search with a blank search field. This displays everything (This process doesn't get notes.)
2. Choose Print.
3. Copy everything to the clipboard
4. Paste Special into Word as unformatted text
5. Save as .txt form
6. Open Excel and open the .txt file
7. Use Excel's txt parsing that comes up when opening a txt file to break into columns
8. Save as csv.

This is a pain. Clearly RTM wants to capture your data and make it hard for you to get it out, or they would make this easy, since it would be easy for them to make easy and they have lots of requests

export to excel would be a great feature. Thinking I could use RTM on android as a very handy way to input data into excel on the go.

Smart lists don't have information about time spent on task. So it can't be used to sum time spent on something during month. It could be great timesheet solution.

I too would be interested to have the ability to export to (or import from) an excel spreadsheet. I have a lot of recurring tasks and I am interested to see the rate at which I complete them.

When I get a project from my boss, I would love to be able to outline it in excel and the import it to RTM. The import via email is very limiting because you cannot include notes, which are much needed for project tasks.

This idea is considered similar to "Export tasks to CSV", and all votes have been transferred to that idea.
