Reminder settings for a particular list?

(closed account) says:
Hi guys, I have a list that is called school.
So I kind of want the list to have all the tasks inside to automatically remind me like 2 days before the due date while having my default due date set on the day that the task is due.

How do I go about doing this?

You can't change the reminder settings for a given list, but you could set all tasks to remind you two days before the due date; see the Reminders Guide.

Otherwise, you could also use something like sleeper tags to make a task "wake up" two days before it's due; that's a very useful way to have a list like your school or work list only show you items that you can/should work on at the moment.

Oh then I think setting reminder settings per different lists should be a much more simple intuition for most people. You see I do not use smart task lists and I focus exclusively on the "task overview" section for today/tomorrow/overdue.

I would like to see my sch work remind me there instead.

Thx for the tip, not really what I am looking for though.

Should I do a feature request for something like this?

In four years, I can hardly count how many times this natural, entirely reasonable suggestion has been put forward. An incomplete list follows below. While there is a great Gcal workaround (https://www.rememberthemilk.com/forums/tips/6517/), it's too roundabout to imagine all new RTM users to set that up, and in the meantime the inadequate flexibility in the current reminder system is surely not helping to win any new users over.

Now that the multi-edit UI issues have been addressed here, I think that reminders may very well be the leading open issue in terms of site functionality here at RTM.

It would be great to see Bob turn his attention to this challenge. I think tags and smartlists lay a foundation for reminders that could be extremely powerful for the end user without being that hard to code.
