Reminders via SMS to Google Voice

I can't get this to work.

Since Google Voice isn't an official cellular carrier, I'm not sure which "network" to choose.

Has anyone found a way to send SMS reminders to their mobile via their Google Voice account?

I'm curious about this setup. It is something I may attempt for myself. What advantages would have by sending reminders to Google Voice?

Remember The Milk uses email-to-SMS gateways to send reminders to phone numbers. (These gateways convert an email message to a SMS message.)

Google voice currently doesn't support email-to-SMS, so this won't be possible.

If you have a phone number via another mobile carrier, that would probably be best to use; otherwise, you may want to fall back on email. I'd think one of those would work, as I don't know if Google Voice would be able to deliver SMS to your phone without an "actual" number anyway.

Hope this helps!
