New Version of Google Desktop Gadget Released

(closed account) says:
Version 1.2 and lower caused under certain conditions a lot of traffic to the RTM site.
Please install Version 2.0 as soon as possible. You can either add it through the Google Deskop Sidebar or directly from http://www.catsoft.ch/gg/catsoftrtm.gg. If you download through Google Desktop please make sure that the version in the About ... is 2.0.0.0.

Version 2.3 is available. The most important new features are:
- Brazilian Portuguese is available as language option
- Sorting by tag name is possible as well.

I'm looking for people that are interested to translate the gadget in other languages. I would provide you a file or you can download the english version directly from http://code.google.com/p/rememberthemilk/source/browse/trunk/en/strings.xml and send it to me after translation. Contact me through my email address listed in the gadget.

Is there anyone else who is sharing all his data with this fellow?

If his settings say use SSL does that mean the 3rd party service provider is unable to access data?

Should I even be taking this kind of risk?

What do you mean by "sharing all his data"? You're having your data with Remember the Milk. The google desktop gadget is installed on your machine and connects directly to the RTM API. There's no one between you and RTM. If you're using SSL than even the communication is secure.

I was only propagating rumor and innuendo, sorry about that. I think the reference to security was made on another post but doing a quick search I can not find it. Sorry for not understanding things thoroughly enough, my misunderstanding to think that the security was not complete. It is just that sometimes when you grant access to add-ons and third parties they ask you if you trust the source/vendor because they will have access to your data. Or perhaps I am misinterpreting those warnings as well. Thank you for the clarification.

My question is, why can't I authorize it to link it to my RTM account? I installed it and added it to my Google Desktop but my task list is empty. When I go to Options it says "Authorization not available. Try again later."

Is this a temporary problem? Am I supposed to be doing something different?

I am getting the "Authorization not available. Try again later." error as well since I installed the gadget Jan 27.

Is this temporary, an issue on RTM's part, or do I have something configured incorrectly?

Thank you, Johan

When RTM wasn't available for some hours the Gadget had some troubles trying to connect and the API key was blocked. Download the latest version 2.4.0.0 and everthing is back to normal again.

I tried several time to install the update but am getting a "Failed to copy the gadget - RTM Tasks by CATsoft. Please check if a gadget with the same name is already installed and remove the old gadget before proceeding"

I deleted the gadget, and I also reinstalled Google Desktop. Neither worked.

Can you help? Can gadgets by "hidden"? I'm very anxious to try this gadget out.

Thank you, Johan

Remove the gadget from the sidebar. Exit the google desktop. Delete the file RTM Tasks by CATsoft-Arthur Hefti.gg from My Documents\My Google Gadgets. Start the google desktop again and install the gadget.

I am finding that when sort by Due Date is selected in the gadget, only those tasks with times included in the due date are properly sorted. Is there a way to include tasks with due dates but no time in the sort?
Posted 15 years ago
jimlove says:
Since there has been no reply to my inquiry, perhaps my question was not clear...
My issue is -
When I enter tasks with due dates, but no scheduled time of day on the due date, and select Sort by Due Date in the options of the Google Desktop Gadget, then my tasks are not sorted - at all - on the gadget list. They only get sorted properly if I enter a time of day on every single task. Am I missing something, or does Sort by Due Date simply not sort by due date without a time of day included? And if that is the case, may I put in a suggestion that sort by date only (without a time) be added to this otherwise very nice and useful gadget.
Thank you.

The latest version is now officially available. New features are:
- Trigger Refresh Tasks through menu. Due to the latency of the RTM Service, after changes the gadget waits for 20 seconds until it refreshes.
- Allow edititing of Tasks in Smartlists
- Problem with sorting and due date fixed
- Additional languages: French, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese

You can download as usual through the desktop sidebar, from the project web site at http://code.google.com/p/rememberthemilk/downloads/list or directly from our website http://www.catsoft.ch/gg/CATsoftRTM.gg. Any feedback is welcome. FAQ und issue tracking is at http://code.google.com/p/rememberthemilk/.
Enjoy
