Choosing tags from a list

As an addicted mouse user, is there any way to avoid typing in the name of a tag, and simply choosing one (or more) from a list, via dropdown box or otherwise? I do have a task cloud, but that doesn't let me choose a a tag for a new task. Analogy - choosing a label in Gmail. Thanks.

if you put a # (or any symbol) at the beginning of every tag you make, then typing # will give you a list of your tags.
