How do I create a reminder and then forget about it?

carl.schutte says:
Hi,

I'm not experiencing any technical issues - the product works great!
This is more a question of recommended work-flow.

Let's say Bob (the monkey) says to me: "Call me in 4 weeks."
I want to create a reminder to call Bob in 4 weeks, but after I've created it I don't want to have to keep seeing it every day for the next 4 weeks. It should be out of sight and out of mind till the reminder pops up in 4 weeks time. I guess this is only relevant for tasks which require no prep prior to execution.

What's the best way of achieving this with RTM?
Typically my tasks don't have hard deadlines; I sort by priority and reshuffle as necessary.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thanks,
Carl

Hi Carl,
One popular solution is to use "sleeper tags" to hide tasks until you're ready to see them. This blog post describes them a bit and includes a link to the original forum thread.

If you haven't already, you may also want to browse our Tips & Tricks forum. Other users have suggested a variety of different methods for hiding tasks there.

Hope that helps!
