It is now 12:05 AM IST on 15-October. This was working for me a few hours ago but is now failing. I see that my version of Gmail is not listed as supported so guessing that since I am in India perhaps I am getting the new version early :-(
I know it worked earlier today b/c I figured out that unstaring it also marked it as complete earlier today.
Let me know what I can do to help troubleshoot. If I am still awake I will have a go at it.

Google rolled out a new version of Gmail with different code -- we've now updated the feature to use the new code. (You may need to clear your cache and restart your browser if reloading Gmail doesn't fix it.)
We keep track of all the different versions of Gmail's code (and whether or not we're supporting them yet) on our status page.

Me @dork...default cache clears only last hours worth. Went back and did it right and...well, you know it worked. Thanks!
