My Weekend List(s)

yeshan01 says:
After years of trying to come up with a good way to track weekend tasks, I've implemented this using 2 smart lists:

1. Today (= due:today)
2. This Weekend (=dueBefore:monday AND (due:saturday OR due:sunday))

When today is a:
a) Weekday: Any tasks due on the weekend will appear in the 'This Weekend' list
b) Saturday: Any tasks due today (ie on Saturday) will appear in the 'Today' list. Any tasks due for the rest of the weekend (ie on Sunday) will appear in the 'This Weekend' list
c) Sunday: Any tasks due today (ie on Sunday) will appear in the 'Today' list. The 'This Weekend' list will be empty as the weekend is finished *sob*

I have also been thinking about this for years ;-)

In order to filter out (long) overdue tasks that do not belong on the (present) weekend lists, I have suggested a new search operator daysDue as that would make it easier to create smart lists:

You could hardcode the weekend dates using this method, but it will show overdue tasks from earlier weekends (hence the idea of daysDue above):

"dueBefore:monday AND (due:saturday OR due:sunday)" search doesn't return overdue tasks from previous weekends
