Managing emails SMS and visual voice mails with RTM
runser says:
Each gMail has it's own URL. I set up a smart list called Emails. The qualifier for the smart list is "contains FWD:). I forward the email to RTM. The subject automatically contains the qualifier"FWD:" as do all forwarded emails. I then copy and paste the email URL into the subject of the email I'm forwarding. It looks like this before I hit send so it looks like this::
To: RTM
Subject:
Fwd: Statement Available [CitiMortgage Subscription] hxxp://mail.google.com/mail/?sha=1#search/mortgage/127811572a16
It is automatically put in my RTM "EMAILs" smart list (for easy finding) and the URL automatically is placed in the correct box. So in RTM it looks like this:
Item:
Fwd: Statement Available [CitiMortgage Subscription]
URL:
hxxp://mail.google.com/mail/?sha=1#search/mortgage/127811572a16
Then in RTM, I can click on the URL and open the email if need be. I can also put other qualifiers in the subject so it's listed in multiple smart lists and I can re-write the subject to remind me of what I actually need to do with the email (love those emails that say, "here's the thing for that guy")
The link works the same on my cell so I can handle the emails while I'm driving, drinking, honking, flirting and smoking on the busy freeway!
Visual voice mails (like google voice and whatnot) can be emailed so they can be managed the same way.
Most smart phone have a voice to text app available. I made a shortcut on my phone's home screen that says, "RTM". It opens an email to RTM so my voice to text msg is sent there. speak the word "FWD" (which I added to the personal dictionary) so it shows up in the same smart list.
Many SMS clients have a setting so that SMS msgs appear in your email box. You get the idea.
RTM then becomes my ONLY collection box (well except for snail mail) and the forwarded items can be scheduled as needed.
