RTM as a time tracker
steakpinball says:
There seem to be many time tracking applications out there. I wanted to find a way to use what I already am to track my time.
Right before clicking 'complete' on a task I change the time estimate to be the amount of time it actually took. That way, when I need to know how much time I have spent on a project all I need to do is look at the time estimate for the completed tasks. This has helped me make better predictions for future tasks.

I am trying to figure out how much of my time is given to different tasks for one week. Do you know if there is an easy way to do this?

stephanie.quirk,
You may want to use Smart Lists to display the total time estimated.

I do a similar thing. In an effort to refine my estimates, I change the estimates to reflect the time things actually took. In order to get a handle on how much time I spend on my task oriented work in any given day, I'd like to display the time estimates for all completed tasks.
I use a smart list for all tasks due today and it shows an estimate for the total estimated time to complete remaining tasks. But when I switch to show those I have already completed, it shows the same number - time left to complete the open items. I've tried a smart list for all items completed yesterday and none of the estimate information is available in this view.
Any ideas?
