Remember what you borrowed and loaned

I tend to share DVD boxsets with friends to allow them to enjoy a series I've bought, and usually borrow something from them at the same time. I do the same with music and books.
I've created two lists on RTM, 'LoanedOut' and 'LoanedToMe'.
Whenever I loan something to a friend, in the task I store the item and who I loaned it to. I set the due date to a rough date I think I should return it by, or the date I've agreed to return it by. That way the reminder to return it comes into my overview of tasks to do.
I do this even for things such as borrowing money from someone - if you are short of a few quid at the snack bar for example.
This way I never forget what's mine and theirs, and return things to their rightful owners in good time.
