Get those magazines read
zabeth.carp says:
Every month I receive three magazines that I love to read but if I don't keep on top of them, they soon pile up. Thinking you'll fit in reading time "whenever" you have it only sets you up for never reading.
I've put re-occurring tasks to have at least one magazine a week on my RTM schedule to read an hour each night; sometimes I have two in a week if one of them is a smaller publication and a quick read. By the end of the week I've almost ALWAYS finished my assigned magazine reading. If not, I have the fourth week of the month (and sometimes the fifth) to finish before the end of the month.
If I finish the current week's magazine(s) early, I'll work in the random extra magazines I might have picked up in my travels each month. (You know, those articles that a co-worker says you should take a look at this one. Or something you started reading on an airplane and actually liked enough to carry home with you.)
Adjust the reading time and number of reading material to your needs but the key is to *plan* that work or pleasure reading so that it actually happens. You'll be amazed at how much "whenever" time you find in your schedule.
(Oh, and my cat now loves to sleep in the empty basket beside my bed that used to hold all my to-be-read magazines.)
What other ideas do people have for getting magazines read?
