A different list for the week-ends
(closed account) says:
I've been using RTM extensively for about 18 months now. After a bit of experimentation I have found a system that works for me and might be useful to others looking to tune their workflow. Comments welcome.
I've been using a list for work with each item tagged by project. The following smart lists let me figure out what to do next:
@work today: list:work and (dueWithin:"1 day of today" or dueBefore:today)
already scheduled: list:work and priority:1 and not due:never
Backlog: list:work and due:never
High-priority backlog: list:work and due:never and priority:1
For week-ends, "un-work today" is defined by: (dueWithin:"1 day of today" or dueBefore:today) and not list:work
I try to go over the backlog once a week, although I've found that the list grows longer, meaning that I should say "no" more often :)
