Semester Overview

One of the things that RTM has been invaluable of is class assignments due throu out the semester. While most will put their assignments in as they get them, I have found that using the syllabus and putting them in at the beginning of the semester is a great way to track when things are due all year long. What I do is create a list called "school" and then track assignments via different tags. For example:
Raid Chapters 3-4 due Sept 24 #chm324 =1hr
Researrch Paper Due Oct 10 #chm501 =researchpaper =30hr
Entering the entire syllabus this way gives me a nice overview of everything that is happening and due while at the same time allows me to easily see what is due the following week to allow me to stay on track. For long projects, I'll further specify tags specific to that project. So, for a research paper, I might break up the entire project into many smaller sections with incremental due dates so that I can stay on top of it.
While this is a simple use for RTM, I have found it invaluable to success in my graduate school program. I have never been late on an assignment and it also allows me to see how much time I should have to spend the following week to complete things!
