One of the purposes for which I am using remember the milk is to remind me of the due date of an annual subscription with automatic renewal. By setting a tag like "subscription" to these tasks and by creating smart list:
tag:subscription and dueWithin:"60 of today"

By this way, I never forget an annual subscription to eventually cancel it.
