For camping I made a list of all of the equipment I need to pack.

To group the items in the list, I start each item with the name of the category or container (ex: tools - Hammer, kitchen - stove...). This way everything that is supposed to be packed together is grouped in the list.

By doing this, I am sure not to forget anything.

Also, since the equipment I use is pretty much the same every time, I can reuse the list by uncompleting every item when I need to pack again for a new trip.
