A work/play balance setup...

I thought I would share my RTM setup as it took me a little while to get to grips with the service.

My life contains a set number of tasks that always reoccur be it weekly or monthly and for me, I don't like these appearing in my normal list of tasks. I have a list called 'Reminders' that only holds these reoccurring tasks. An example of my reminder tasks is to 'Get a lottery ticket' on a Wednesday, Friday and Saturday weekly, something I used to always forget!

Just to add to the previous list I mentioned, I have also set a daily reminder to check my tasks and check my email before I head to sleep to make sure I wake with a clean, tidy slate.

For day to day tasks and to-do's, I use a list called Daily, and although there it my default 'Inbox' list that does the same, I use this daily to store anything remotely relevant in terms of me having to do something from a personal, out of work point of view, such as remembering the milk ;)

For work, I have my Work list. This doesn't contain a full list of outstanding to-do's for each project as I just wouldn't keep it up to date. I have Basecamp to use this for as a project management tool. What it does though is keep my general work reminders, such as 'call back so and so' or 'do that thing the boss asked me to' and I check these are all done before I leave. I will definately be incorporating a 'waiting on' list as a previous poster wrote as this is a great idea.

In terms of lists, I probably (for now) won't need any more. I am a fan of minimalism and three lists is more then enough to keep my life in order!

Hope this helps any newbie!

Cheers
Stu
