Is there a way to schedule a task for a certain time in a day?

I am a new user and have been impressed with the app. Then only thing that I would really like to see is the power of RTM in a google calender type structure.

The ultimate to me would look like this. I schedule a certain task for tomorrow btwn 8 and 9 tomorrow morning.

However at 8am we are having computer issues. By the time I get them fixed it is 9 oclock. I can not mark the the task as completed so it ask me if I would like to reschedule it.

Is there any way to accomplish this?

Hi tellintheworld,
It is possible to schedule tasks for a certain time of day. To do this, include the due time when you set the due date. You can find a list of accepted date and time formats here.

You are able to receive reminder notifications based the time the task is due as well. You can change your reminder settings using the Reminders tab of the Settings screen.

While it's not currently possible to be automatically prompted to reschedule overdue tasks, it is possible to identify all your overdue tasks and then reschedule them. Try searching for the following:

dueBefore:now

Hope that helps!

You can also add the Atom feed of a list to GCal and have things you put in that list show up on the calendar. It doesn't really let you reschedule like you're wanting, but it will get it on the calendar and get you the pop up reminders.

Is there a way to set the reminder time individually? For somethings I want to be reminded a day or two before, somethings, just 15 minutes before. Sometimes both. How about a syntax like:

Go to @Vancouver for work on June15 8:15pm !2 -2d -2h

for remind me at 2 days before, and at 6:15pm (2hours before).

ToodleDo doesn't have the smart syntax, but it does allow you to set two alarms for each event. The alarm times sync across to other devices, and send notifications on the iPhone. SMS with set reminder times fills the gap, but definitely not ideal.

I should add, that I currently pay for pro toodledo, but would switch in a heartbeat if this feature was added.

I came to the help sections because I wanted to see if the RTM tasks could be inserted into my google calendar if I added a time. So I have two questions.

First is where is there information for installing the atom feed for my RTM account. The second is, if I want to schedule a time frame say 1:00 - 1:30 pm how do I enter the value when creating the task in RTM.

Thanks for your help.

shea.martin,
It's not currently possible to set customized reminder settings for individual tasks. Sorry for any inconvenience.

If you haven't already, you may want to vote for this in our Ideas forum.

marketvouch,
Concerning Google Calendar, you may want to look here for instructions on subscribing to the iCalendar feed. We also offer two additional services to help integrate your tasks with Google Calendar.

All your lists have an Atom feed available, so there's nothing to install. You can find information about subscribing with your feed reader here.

Sorry, but tasks don't currently support a duration. You can set a due date and time for the task (today at 1:00, in the example you gave) and you can also set a time estimate, which represents how long you expect the task to take (30 minutes, for example).

Hope that helps!

shea.martin,
you could create a new task resembling the original or duplicate it and add a due date before the original due date as a reminder.
