Tracking medical questions

(closed account) says:
I have several health issues and see several doctors. I had trouble keeping track of who to see for what and when. I also tried to keep a list of questions I wanted to ask, but it wasn't convenient to update on the fly and I invariably forget to print and take it to appointments.

I now create a task for every future appointment and question. I use an overall list called "Medical" where all these items reside. I then tag them with the doctor's name and the item's category.

Within the notes section, if needed, I jot down why this item appeared - such as the url of the article I was reading or a reference to a converstion with X where X said "blah blah".

Due dates are only assigned to those tasks that actually have a deadline. For example, I have my task to schedule an annual eye exam set for January 13th. Each year, once I've actually had the eye exam I move the due date to the next year's January 13th. Items that contain topics to discuss with a physician don't carry a due date - they will be covered at the next appointment whenever that is.

So, my tasks could look like this:

What is my calcium level? #medical #bloodtest #Dr. Who
NOTE: Article 'url' says that calcium supplements are helpful with osteoporosis. Should I be taking?

Schedule annual wellness appt #medical #phonecall #Dr. What 02/12/12
NOTE: call 000-000-0000 to schedule

Renew prescription #medical #rx #Dr. When

Instead of just resetting the due date on recurring things like the eye exam, you can just set "repeat after 1 year" and it will repeat 1 year after you complete the first task. Or if you would rather it be on the 13th regardless of when you complete it, you can set it to "repeat every 1 year."
