Use RTM for packing lists

shark.dp says:
Hello,

Until now I mostly used spreadsheets in Excel or Google Documents to organize my packing lists for the holidays. As I tend to have everything in one place, I wanted to import those lists to RTM and use them there.

Normally you like to use this packing lists several times (check all the things again for your next holidays). Here's how you can achieve this:

* First you have to create a new list in RTM (Settings -> Lists). You can do the same with tags, but the import works better with lists)

* If you already have your packing lists in a spreadsheet or text file, you can easily import them via e-mail. Therefore, go to Settings -> Info and copy your 'Import Email Address'.

* Copy and paste the packing list to your e-mail program and send the list to the import address. Use the name of your list as subject and all the tasks will be sorted in the right place.

* You are now ready to use your list and check all the things while you are preparing for your holidays.

* Once you want to use the list again, you perform the following search (replace the list title with yours):
status:completed list:"Summer holidays"
Then you select all tasks (Press 'a') and click 'Uncomplete'. Now the list is restored and you can start again.

A few remarks
* I don't know why the following is not working as expected:
(status:completed OR status:incomplete) AND list:"Summer holidays"
This way we could see both, things already collected and things still to fetch.
* You can use additional tags to sort the things into categories
* If you have different packing lists (summer / winter) you should prefer to use tags to organize the packing lists and tag things like your toothbrush with #winter and #summer. This way you avoid redundancy.

Hope this helps

Hi David,
Regarding your comment about the search not working: it's not currently possible to view incomplete and completed tasks at the same time; a search for both will include both, but you'll need to toggle between them. Hope this helps!
