rtm-pyCLI with windows build
carimou says:
The David Warang's CLI is maybe not as featureful/popular as the one from Rütschlé but it's in Python and i know enough python to make an exe out of it.
Well the idea behind this fork was to have a tool like "RTM Quick Add" which looks like it disappeared from the net. Its name is pretty meaningful, it obviously gave a way to add a note quickly and that what i needed.
So rtm-pyCLI is a "fork" (quotes here because changes are minors) from the David Warang CLI.
Changes from the original source :
- Still cross-platform, but you can grab a windows executable as well.
- Interactive-mode : which is a kind of console.
- Quicknote : a way to send a quick note, you type your request, press enter, the program closes when the message has been sent to rtm. Note that contrary to "RTM Quick add" the add part is not implied : you'll have to tell him that you actually want to add like "a buy eggs", that may change in the future since i'm not sure if there are some other useful oneshot commands.
- Forced plain text mode since windows command-line doesn't handle colors.
Things you have to know :
- Open the interactive-mode and type "help" for commands syntax.
- You need to be online for the message to be handled at the moment, there's no delay submission for an offline usage for example.
- Making a GUI for the quicknote mode is not excluded if there are requests. But still there is "RTM Quick Add" for that, if you find download links.
- It doesn't run in brackground, make a handy shorcut or use autokey if you want it even more accessible.
