Keeping track of Birthdays

Birthdays have a way of sneaking up on me. I tend to feel a little silly when I depend on Facebook...the day of to know who's having a birthday. So I made a new list devoted to birthdays where I make a new "task" for each person with the due date being their birthday, repeated yearly. Then I use the tags feature to fill in the month again so that I can use a smart list to collect all the July birthdays. I could also enter their astrological sign for fun to make smart lists by that too. If I think of gifts I want to give them or I receive a birthday party invitation, I can use the notes section to let myself know what's going on.

It would be great if there was some integration between facebook or gmail to automatically fill in the birthdays, but for now this systems has been working really well.

I've been a huge fan of RTM and it's fun to see all the different ways people use it. Thanks for the great tool!

I created a list for birthdays and since they are dated, I get an email of the birthdays for the day. Regarding FB, I added the URL to the person's FB page so that when I look at the task, I can click the link directly from the task and wish them a happy birthday. Additionally, for each birthday task, I add "FB - " to the beginning of the person so I know they are on FB.
