Always remember to silence your phone

I’m horrible at remembering to silence my phone whenever I come into the office, so I created a task called “Silence Phone” and gave it a location near my work. Then I enabled location notifications on my RTM Android app and now I get a reminder to silence my phone as soon I get to work. I also assigned it a custom tag so that it doesn’t show up in any of my Smart Lists.
Of course if you have a very regular work schedule then you can simply set up a recurring task that notifies you every day when you usually get in to work (or send you a text message reminder if you don’t have the Android app). However for me my schedule is far from regular and this setup works perfectly, and you can setup tasks for various locations like school, church, etc. Though you may have to tweak the exact position and radius setting to get it to your liking.

While this does work, I actually use the app called tasker. It will actually automatically silence your phone whenever you want.

Exactly. I use an app called ProfileManager from Android Marketplace which automatically sets the Silent profile thruout the week at a specific time. It is an amazing Free app.
