My system-including tweak for subtasks

Thanks RTM for helping me out; I even joined pro to support you guys! I have just been using RTM for a month or so and it is helping me remember stuff and also focus on what I need to get done at work (and school and home). Since I have an iphone, it has really helped me to put things in right away when I think of them, so I don't constantly have that nagging feeling "what am I forgetting to do?" I used to ALWAYS feel like that. I tried google tasks, since it's right there all the time cuz I use google calendar, but it's not as adaptable to my tastes as RTM. I'm starting to converge on a system for RTM that I like, so I thought I'd share. Especially because so many people have requested subtasks and I think this way of doing subtasks is pretty good, at least, in my opinion.
I haven't read GTD, but I've read some intros and some about how other people are implementing it with RTM and I've tried to emulate that. I can't remember where all these various ideas came from, so sorry if some of the stuff is yours, but my addition is the subtasks extra and putting ideas from various places together. I use "+project_name" as a tag for projects, then add stuff in smart lists so they get tagged right. Each project has a goal task "...goal_sentence", so that shows up at the top of the smart list if you have the list go in order of task name, which you need to do for my project system to work. Then I add tasks to my smartlist, naming them as such:
10. First task/goal
10.1. first subtask
10.2. second subtask
20. Second task/goal
20.1 first subtask
etc.
I use 10, 20 etc so that I can easily add tasks in between 10 and 20 without having to renumber all the later tasks and they appear in the right order in my smartlist. I could do this for the subtask numbering system too I suppose, but that hasn't been a problem yet, but you might want to do that if you're worried about having to add subtasks in between. This works at even higher levels, so I have a list with three levels of subtasks for writing my PhD thesis, ie. a task named "50.3.2 task name".
A nice feature is you can do a search and see a list of all your goals by searching for "...", which I think is a nice long-term view to look at and remember where you are going with all these tasks and subtasks.
I use the GTD idea of reviewing my lists once a week and tagging stuff ".na" if I'm ready to get going on it, so that I can just look at a smart list with all my ".na" tasks in various contexts to know what I need to GTD.
I'm still trying to perfect my system for non-project related lists and goals and whatnot, so all my life is in order. I do tend to obsess a bit more over this than I probably should...but it comes in bursts and my organization improves when I go through an iteration of tweaking, so I think in the long term it is helping me improve my productivity.
The other idea I've used from someone on these forums was adding tags for my tag-prefixes, so I have a tag "++__________Projects_________" and ".._____________Status________" which makes my tag cloud more organized looking for easy clicking. Just add these tags to a task (call it whatever you want, just don't get rid of it). Sorry I'm not linking to everyone's ideas, but it enough time to write this post.
Let me know what you guys think! I hope this helps other users out. I know the ideas I've found on the forum and web have really helped me along my way to get this system figured out and so I thought I'd do my part and put them together in this post, so I'm not a leech :).

This is a really great workaround for subtasks! Thanks.
