Fast tracking emails into RTM
davidtesler says:
I use textexpander to quickly send tasks from my inbox into RTM. I forward the email to my RTM email address and then when I type "RTM" the following appears which can be customized as needed (or left blank when not needed):
Priority:
Due:
Repeat:
Estimate:
Tags:
Location:
URL:
---
Note a few items: (1) Unlike the way it is posted in the RTM help site - in order for this to work there CANNOT be an extra line between the different items, (2) You must change the name of the subject line to properly title the task and (3) everything below the last line will be entered into as a note.
To keep my inbox clean and keep my tasks and life in order - every actionable item goes into RTM and gets tasked

Thanks, this was very helpful, especially your explanaition: I had extra lines between the items and wondered why it never worked.

I'm integrating RTM as my college GTD since Aglix Backpack doesn't work for my campus' Blackboard anymore.
When I tried to use the exact template posted in RTM's faq page, it kept ending up in my default list and completely messed up.
Hoping this template works for me.. thanks for the help and explanation!

deshane, if you have continued problems, feel free to post what problems you're having. If you'd rather deal with this privately (especially if you want to post what email you're trying to send so we could take a look), you can submit an Emailing Tasks issue report via our support system. We can sort out whatever's happening either way. :)
