pbowers,
You can use Smart Add to specify properties in a list; see the example under "How to import a list via email".
Hope this helps!

What online mail service works around the 72 character limit? I've tried Gmail and Yahoo mail.

Update: Yahoo Mail works if it is set to Classic Mode in plain text. I have an account I use just for sending Import lists.

Still struggling to get this to work. When I post a list in from gmail using Chrome browser, all I get is a single task in the Inbox, with my tasks appearing as notes.
Can anyone help with this please?
