Using List Templates

volkan.unsal says:
I have a bunch of checklists that I use across various projects. They are about 200 items long, but every project needs them. I figured I could use RTM for this task, but I need some way to easily replicate and use several of them simultaneously. I can't enter them by hand every time. That's why I need a kind of template. Looking around RTM, I don't think there is something like that here. Those who have used RTM longer than I have, do you have a recommendation for me regarding this particular challenge?

thanks.

He has madeup a template travel list and copies it to a new list everytime he travels, thus being able to tweak it as necessary. I hope it helps

cheers!

Two basic approaches:

If it's something I do frequently, I have a list "cl-newProject" that contains all of the tasks I need to do. I then select all, duplicate and then move them to the relevant list.

If it's more in-frequent I store the list in a template e-mail and then use the e-mail list import address to create the list when required.

Hope that helps.

Also called the +bessler method:

I use this for groceries. Works fine for selecting them on the web (at home/work) before shopping, but is not useful for adding more items on the road, since copying tasks seems not possible in the iPhone App :(

List templates would be nice.

I admire the suggestion made by someone here previously of combining Gmail’s canned responses with the email a bunch of tasks methodology (bonus points if you use smart add syntax in each line).

If you email in groups of tasks, I think there is a 50 task/email limit, so 200 tasks would need 4 separate emails.
