Welcome!  English (US) Language Switcher

Which browser do I need?
Remember The Milk for Gmail requires Firefox 2.0 or newer. It's compatible with all operating systems that support Firefox 2.0.

Which version of Gmail do I need?
You need to have the new version of Gmail, which Google is still rolling out. You have the new version if you see an "Older version" link at the top right in Gmail. If you're using an international version of Gmail, or Gmail with Google Apps, you may not have the new version yet. You'll also need to be using Gmail in US English (unfortunately we're not able to support the non-US English versions of Gmail at this time).

I don't seem to have the new version of Gmail. Is there any way I can get it?
If you're using the regular Gmail, you can switch your language to "US English" by clicking on Settings in Gmail (many users have reported that they're shown the new version after doing this). If you're using Gmail with Google Apps, it's a little trickier. You'll need to ask your Google Apps administrator to login to the control panel, and under Domain settings they'll find an option called "Turn on new application features to my domain before they are rolled out to all Google Apps customers." Once this is turned on, you should have the new version of Gmail soon.

What's a Firefox extension anyway?
Extensions are small applications that can be downloaded and installed into your Firefox browser to add new functionality (in this case, adding Remember The Milk to Gmail).

How do I change the settings for Remember The Milk for Gmail?
You'll find settings available by clicking on Settings in Gmail, then Tasks.

How do I set it to create tasks when I star or label emails?
To turn this feature on, you'll need to change your settings (by clicking on Settings in Gmail, then Tasks). You can automatically create tasks when you star emails, or label messages with a specific label, or both. With this feature, the task will also be automatically completed if you:
- 'Unstar' or remove the specific label from the message
- Reply to the message by clicking on the email icon in the task details

Can I change the default due date for my tasks?
Yes, the default due date affects starred and labeled emails, and tasks without due dates. This option is available by clicking on Settings in Gmail, then Tasks.

Can I turn off the auto-suggesting of events and contacts?
Yes, this option is available by clicking on Settings in Gmail, then Tasks.

Which list will my tasks be added to in Remember The Milk?
Tasks are added to your default list. If you don't have a default list set, or if your default list is a Smart List, they'll be added to your Inbox list.

How do I change the priority for a task?
First, move the mouse over the task to show the task details box. In the top left corner of the box (underneath the "Complete" button), you'll see a coloured ball that indicates priority. Click on this ball, and you can select another priority colour.

I don't need to see my tasks all of the time. Is there any way to hide this?
Yes, just click on the arrow to the left of the tasks pane. This will collapse the pane; you can click the arrow again to expand it.

Can I use this with multiple Gmail accounts?
Yes! Your preferences will be saved for each Gmail account that you use, so you can customize the display of your tasks for each account. For example, you may wish to show a Smart List with your work tasks in one Gmail account, and another Smart List with your personal tasks when using another Gmail account. You can also choose different options for sorting and grouping your tasks.

How do I uninstall Remember The Milk for Gmail?
