To get started, just click the "Offline" link in the top right of Remember The Milk. You'll be prompted to install Google Gears if you haven't already.
You can now use Remember The Milk offline, so you can truly manage your tasks anywhere. To make this possible, we're using Google Gears, a browser plugin that enables offline web applications.

Just about everything that's possible online with Remember The Milk now works offline too -- not only can you access your lists, but you can add new tasks and notes, edit existing tasks (complete, postpone, prioritise, tag, and change due dates to your heart's content), use your own personal tasks search engine, create new Smart Lists, and more.
There are two ways to go offline with Remember The Milk:
Yes, really! Just log into Remember The Milk once after you've installed Google Gears. Then, feel free to unplug your Internet cable. Remember The Milk will automatically detect when you don't have an Internet connection, and will have your tasks ready for you.
OR
If you're expecting to go offline, this will manually switch into offline mode. This is handy if you're taking your computer somewhere without Internet access (e.g. on a plane) or where you expect to have intermittent access.
No problem! Just open your browser when you're ready to manage your tasks, go to http://www.rememberthemilk.com/offline (no Internet connection necessary) and your tasks will be ready for you.
Anything that you do offline will be synchronized when you come back online. Remember The Milk will automatically attempt to go back online the next time you load the application, or you can manually switch back into online mode by clicking the icon on the top right.
Google Gears currently supports Internet Explorer and Firefox (with Safari support to come).

Please keep in mind that the current version of Google Gears is a developer release, so there could be a little bit of occasional quirkiness. We'll be continuing to improve our offline support.
