You can add to Smart Lists and have your tasks inherit the Smart List criteria. The only thing to be aware of is that task properties in Smart Add will take precedence; so, if you added "Pick up the milk !1" to a Smart List with criteria priority:3, the resulting task would take its priority from Smart Add (not the Smart List) and have a priority of 1.
