Student shopping Tip

Often, shops like M&S put items with an imminent expiration date on sale with a reduced price.
If you keep track of the expiry dates of products you are interested in (e.g. pizza) but which are not currently on discount, you can plan your buy when they will be likely to be reduced.
I use RTM on my Adroid to add reminders set to the expiry date of such products during normal shopping so that on that date they will pop up in my shopping list.

The best effect is achieved by creating a Smart List which shows the tasks tagged with "shopping" and due today or never with the tag "reduce": in this way you have a list of things you need to buy plus the ones which are likely to be reduced on that day, while hiding the ones which are added for later.
