says:Hi Emily,
Is it perhaps possible to create some sort of a message area / forum centering around each language? I'm just starting out with the Hebrew translation, and I immediately noticed some huge inconsistencies in the translation:
1. "Tasks" may be translated in more than one way, it has a wider semantic field in Hebrew.
2. Since Hebrew is gender-sensitive it is usually written as masculine, while most of the current translation is feminine.
While I do have my own preferences in these and others, changing a hundred+ strings without first discussing it with the other (active?) translators could lead to problems down the road (a vicious cycle of re-edits). Currently the RTM system doesn't allow me any direct contact with other translators, and a generic message board will cause any message to quickly disappear from sight.
So, how about it?

drorsnir, thanks for your feedback!
Currently, this translation forum is a good place to post any messages to other translators (it's not too active right now, so messages up to 4 months old are on the front page). We can definitely look at having specific forums for each language as these forums become more active.
You might like to start your topic with the language name or language code to bring it to the attention of other translators (there are a few topics like this) -- any discussion about Hebrew translation can take place in this topic.
Thanks for your help! :)

says:Well, thanks. I later noticed that the forum looks pretty dead, and I can only assume I'm the only active translator for Hebrew (the last inquiry about Hebrew translation was 3 months ago). I have a couple of questions to ask regarding interface directionality, etc., but I'll ask them over the contact form.
Thanks again.
Dror.
