That way I don't have to keep it on mind and worry about it all the time, "what if he doesn't come back to me about it?" "what if he forgets about it?" After all, we're only human.
That's what I use RTM for. I've got a list of every task I've delegated, e-mail awaiting an answer, and I found it is a great way to keep focus on the things you've trusted to others to do for you.
Now to be able to process that list as fast as possible, I run a search in Gmail for the subject of the e-mail, and then I just copy the top address bar and paste it in the URL section of my task; so that could be a URL like: https://mail.google.com/mail/#apps/TPS+report
I then use the RTM Gmail addon ( http://www.rememberthemilk.com/services/gmail/ ) to have a list of my tasks in the *same* window as my e-mail, makes it even easier!, then I just click on the task and then the URL and I instantly see if they got back to me - or if it's time to send a reminder e-mail / pick up the phone, whatnot.
Peace of mind while spending the least amount of time on chasing those outstanding items =] Posted at 10:00pm on July 13, 2011 |
