Remembering to send thank-yous

With all the giving that happens during the holidays, here's a way that I'm starting to use in order to keep track of the people I want to send thank-you cards or emails to.
Two of my lists are titled "Family" and "Friends". They normally contain other to-dos, but I decided to use them to also contain reminders to send thank-yous. For each thank-you, I set up a task with the following attributes:
- Task name: Name of person to thank
- Notes: Description of gift that was given (it could also contain thoughts to include in the card/message, address or contact info, etc.)
- Tags: thankyou
I haven't got this far, but I think I'll set up a smart list (tag:thankyou) to narrow in on only the tasks that pertain to sending thank-you notes.
