In the iPhone app if you tap a task it brings you to a task screen where you can view the task or tap for notes. To edit the task you must tap the edit button at the top of the screen. I find myself tapping the task to edit and when nothing happens tapping the edit button. Tapping the task should bring you to the edit screen similar to the way tapping a mote on the note screen opens that note.
