The email to which I should send my tasks is rather hard to remember, so I created a redirect on my domain to forward anything I send to blah@blah.com is forwarded directly to the remember the milk email for me :)
However... it doesn't work.
If I mail the remember the milk address directly it's fine... but if I use the forwarder (which I'll remember and be able to use on my mobile easier) it doesn't work.
What gives?
Are you checking that the To: address is the one you expect, or are you checking the For: part of the headers to correctly get to the final destination?

Hmm, I'm not sure about this one. I can't think of any reason why redirecting the emails wouldn't work. I'll look into it, and post back here when I have an answer.

I'm having a similar problem redirecting from Gmail.
I setup a filter to automatically forward emails to my milk email, but they're not appearing in my Inbox. I've tested both the filter and the forwarding (to my work address) and both are working properly.

Me too please...
it would be awesome if i could send tasks from my phone but my RTM e-mail address is too long for my phone to handle. If forwards from gmail were handled i could just e-mail the tasks to myself.

says:Ditto. Can't forward from my phone (SE k750i) because there is a 50 char limit on email address lengths. Forwarding would be neat, but a shorter, more memorable RTM email address would be neater.

Since everyone has a unique user name, couldn't this be the main part of the e-mail address?
So I could post to my inbox by sending to (say):
user_bernard@rememberthemilk.com
then you could use the voo2do idea and allow me to post to a specific list by using:
user_bernard+work@rememberthemilk.com
This would be a LOT easier.

ah, but characters in usernames might not be good for characters in email addresses. (depends on what they've allowed.)
though allowing us to choose our email address and default to a safe version of the username@ is a good idea.
an instant fix is simply to allow redirects and forwards though ;) most of us early adopters can setup such things with ease, and it doesn't require a huge effort from the rtm team.

It would be lovely to get feedback on some of the core things like this... I look for responses daily ;)
How about opening up a bugzilla for us to organise bug reports more clearly?

Same here, I set up a redirection but the task is never added to my Inbox.

I can confirm redirections don't work. I'm sure RTM are working on it!
