Problem starting RTM from .../home/username, .../offline, or Quicklaunch icon

auklet53 says:
I don't have any problems with my desktop PC. However, when I try to launch RTM on my laptop from any of the following, I get a page that displays the source code for that page:

www.rememberthemilk.com/home/username
www.rememberthemilk.com/offline/
or clicking the Icon in the QuickLaunch tray.

I am using Windows Vista and IE 8.0. It does not matter if I am online or not. If I disable Gears for this site, everything works fine (except the offline part).

With Gears enabled, the only way I can access RTM is with the following link:

www.rememberthemilk.com//home/username (notice the double slashes)

Any suggestions? I'd like to be able to use it offline on my laptop.

Would it be possible to confirm which version of Gears you're using?

Thanks!

emily (Remember The Milk) says:
This has now been confirmed by Google as a bug in the latest version of Gears (0.5.16.0), affecting IE.

It will be fixed in the next Gears update, but if you have problems loading RTM in the meantime, you may need to disable permission for the RTM site in Gears.

To do this, go to the Gears settings dialogue in your browser ('Tools' > 'Google Gears Settings') and disable permission for RTM.

Hope this helps!
