Date Format

Why then are the dates displayed as

Due: Fri 20 Jan 06
or just 20 Jan

I suppose the setting I set is for a different display, perhaps?

The date preference is for when you're entering dates -- so we can tell that when you type 06/07 you mean 7 Jun rather than 6 Jul. It doesn't affect the display of dates, which are in the DD Mon YY format.
