Sunbird / Lightning iCal Update RTM revisited

It appears not possible to update your RTM tasks from an iCal application. I'm wondering if this is still planned and if so, has there been any headway on it?
I love the gmail addon and use it a bunch but I also use Thunderbird with Lightning and it would be great to see my tasks and update them from there as well.

I totally agree.
Another problem I have is that my tasks are not only shown in the task list, but also in the calendar. Not at the due date, but all at "today" and the next days. This makes RTM useless for the latest version of Lightning :o(
